At first, Muslims treated the printing of the Holy Quran with caution, preferring handwritten books. But by the 19th century, printing houses had spread throughout the Islamic world. The first publisher of the sacred book of Muslims in Crimea was Ismail Gasprinsky, who managed to achieve high quality and printing accuracy at the «Tercüman» printing house. The Quran published by Gasprinsky was in demand far beyond the peninsula.
