The famous Ottoman traveler Evliya Chelebi in his book “Seyakhatname” described how the army of the Crimean Khanate, led by Khan Mohammed IV Geray and the great vizier of the Ottoman Empire Melek Ahmed Pasha in Akkerman, celebrated Oraza Bayram. According by the traveler’s description, it was a truly great feast, which then was a tradition.
