A jester, rogue, trickster and sage — this is how one of the most beloved characters of Crimean Tatar folklore, Ozenbash native Akhmet-akai, appears in hundreds of tales and latife anecdotes. Always different, Akhmet-akai nevertheless remains himself, embodying many traits of the Crimean Tatar character — he never complains about life, never loses heart, always has a quick wit, and most importantly — is always ready to laugh at himself.
