A rich Crimean tatar girl had up to 500 towels in her dowry

A long time ago, there were decorative towels in every Crimean Tatar’s house — evdzhiyar (in many sources they are mistakenly called «ijiyar»). They were used both in everyday life and in an aesthetic design of a house. Evdzhiyars were a mandatory component of the dowry of every Crimean Tatar girl. If a bride was from a rich family, then she could have 400-500 decorative towels, if she was poor — then 200-300.
