An ancient Crimean Tatar men’s shirt, woven and embroidered by hand, preserves the story of an unfulfilled wedding in the village of Tav-Bodrak, Bakhchysarai district of Crimea. In the family of Nadide Emiruseinova, it is carefully kept in memory of the groom, whose fate remains unknown. The unopened collar became a reminder not only of the failed wedding, but also of the tragedies that befell an entire generation.
