A journey through time — a Crimean Tatar House of the century before last has been recreated in Bakhchisaray

The Dervish Evi of Bakhchisaray — is not just a museum or ethnic centre: it is a real Crimean Tatar house. The time here as if has stopped, and the family members seem still to be living in the 19th century. Girls fetch water in copper jugs, women cook food in a traditional oven, and the whole family gather for dinner at a short-legged round table. A special cozy atmosphere reigns here, and therefore, the launching of the Dervish Evi Centre was held in an informal setting for a nice cup of Crimean Tatar coffee.
