Esnafs of the Crimean Khanate

The main cell of handicraft production in the Crimean Khanate were the so-called “esnafs” – workshops that became widespread in the territory of the Ottoman Empire and in Crimea. This principle of organizing crafts survived the fall of the Khanate on the peninsula, existing until the beginning of the 20th century. Based on materials from the Sh. Marjani Institute of History.
