Today the outstanding Soviet and Ukrainian scientist-encyclopedist, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences Dmitry Pavlovich Urs, who made a huge contribution to the study of the history of Crimean Tatar culture, would have turned 85. He wrote books about the figures of the Crimean Tatar culture and intellectuals, as well as a bibliography of the great Crimean Tatar poet and scientist Bekir Choban-zade. Dmitry Ursu passed away in 2017.
