Kudus Yunusov was 11 years old when the war began. The Germans occupied his native village of Gavro (Plotinnoye), and partisans were hiding nearby in the forests. Local residents helped the partisans: they passed on information, carried food and medicine. Despite his young age, Kudus actively participated in helping the partisans and was even injured.
