Khairiye Ablaeva was born in Kerch in 1938. A series of misfortunes began in the family along with the war. Father went to the front. Soon the youngest died — a one-year-old child. And before the family had time to recover from their grief, the deportation broke out. Khairiye-khanim was only 6 years old when she was kicked out of her home. In the first months of exile, her other brother, 4-year-old Riza, died of hunger. Then — grandmother and aunt. The horrors of those days Khairiye still cannot be remembered without tears. She managed to return to her homeland only in 2005. Here she happened to bury her husband and youngest daughter.
