Fatime Abibullayeva Lost Both Parents in the First Years of Exile

Fatime Abibullayeva was 13 years old when, on the night of May 18, 1944, soldiers broke into her home and ordered her family to prepare for deportation. Her happy childhood in her native Crimea was cut short by exile, followed by the tragic death of her parents. At the age of 14, working in cotton fields, she fought against cruel injustice and struggled to survive. But, despite all the hardships of life, she managed to endure and return to her homeland almost half a century later.
