During the war, as a 13-year-old girl, Ava Bektasova from the village of Baksan (Mezhgorje) saved holy books from the fire. They were burned directly in the mosque. The saved pages were carefully kept in the family, they survived the deportation and accompanied Ava-khanim throughout her life.
