On May 18, 1944, the first thing that brought to the exile many Crimean Tatars was the Qur’an. So did Khurtvade Cholakhaeva from the village Tuak (Rybachye). For many years the Holy book remained in Uzbekistan even after the death of Khurtvade grandma. Her grandson Asan Umerov went to Uzbekistan and returned his grandmother’s Qur’an home to Crimea.
