Alim — The Crimean Tatar Robin Hood

He robbed the rich and gave everything to the poor, led uprisings and defended the oppressed. This is Alim Aydamak, whose life was vividly portrayed in the first Crimean Tatar film «Alim.» Its premiere took place in 1926. The film was shot at the Yalta film studio by director Georgiy Tasin. The script was written by avant-garde poet Nikolay Bazhan based on a play by playwright Umer Ipchi. The artistic consultant for the film was the director of the Bakhchisaray Museum, Usein Bodaninsky.
