On November 2, 1938, Ali Asanov, a talented teacher and People’s Commissar of Education of the Crimean ASSR, was shot. Supporting Ismail Gasprinsky’s ideas, Ali Asanov worked hard to make education universal and accessible to all. But his work didn’t last long. In 1934 he was removed from his post and then arrested and shot in 1938.
