Grown on Scorched Earth: Crimean Tatar Writers Born in 1934-1944

Their childhood and coming of age fell on the hardest years in the history of the Crimean Tatars: famine, war, deportation, and life in special settlements, which long robbed the entire people of their freedom. Emil Amit, Uriye Edemova, Isa Abduraman, Ervin Umerov – these are just a few names of writers born in 1934-1944 – the last decade before the criminal exile.
