Eskender Fazyl — more than a poet

He was a man with amazing charisma. Here is just one story from his life. In 1948, when he was only 14 years old, he, having escaped from the supervision of the commandant, made his way from Uzbekistan to Crimea to get some water for his dying father from the well of his native home. To support his family, he went to work as a loader, an assistant to a tractor driver. And at the same time he wrote poetry about his lost homeland, about his innocently affected people. Eskender Fazyl is a poet, citizen, veteran of the Crimean Tatars national movement.
