Throughout his life, a sculptor Ilmi Ametov actively participated in the Crimean Tatar national movement. All his work was imbued with patriotism and love for his native land. Having come a long way to return to his homeland, he directed all his efforts to the revival of national monuments in Crimea, the reconstruction of springs and the restoration of dyurbe.
