In Crimean Tatar families, great attention has long been paid to education. Schools-mektebs existed in every village, and education for children there was compulsory. The traveler Yevgeny Markov noted in the mid-19th century that Crimean Tatars greatly valued education and donated large sums to it.
In preparing this publication, materials from the book Essays on Crimea by E. Markov and Ayatymnyñ Unutylmaz Levhalary by A. Bari were used.
