Injife Settarova was born in Kefe (Feodosia) in 1934 Her childhood was overshadowed by the horrors of war. She also remembered the fateful morning of May 18, 1944, when her parents with two children were forced to leave their home due to the criminal deportation of the Crimean Tatars. Thus, they ended up in the Kostroma region of Russia, later moving to Uzbekistan. Life in a foreign land, long wanderings, the struggle for survival – memories of those days still ache her heart, she cannot hold back her emotions when recalling what she went through.
